About This Spot

Stepping into Anjung Santai is like entering a quietly vibrant corner of Malacca where time slows just enough to savor morning comforts. Nestled along the Malaysia Federal Route 141 in Tanjung Kling, this family-run restaurant offers a welcoming, unhurried atmosphere framed by small garden patches dotted with cacti and flowering plants — creating a subtle sense of calm and connection amid the buzz of a busy day’s start.

The pace here encourages a moment of pause, whether you’re settling in for breakfast or lunch. There’s a feeling of familiarity in the air, where the steady flow of patrons moves with ease and the staff’s attentive presence never feels intrusive but assuring. The kitchen and food preparation areas are notably clean and organized, reflecting a quiet pride in the care behind each meal.

At Anjung Santai, the day unfolds through a tapestry of flavors that evoke both tradition and comfort. The air carries the aromas of gently spiced curry and freshly fried roti, mingling with the sweeter notes of coconut-infused treats and warm, homey staples. It’s a place where dishes arrive not as menu items but as shared moments — from a plate of nasi lemak punctuated with a perfectly fried egg to the tender, hearty asam pedas that invites you to linger.

This restaurant thrives on variety, inviting guests to explore an array of kampung-style foods alongside familiar beloved classics. Whether you are starting your morning with a soft lempeng kelapa or finding your midday rhythm through a mix of rice dishes and freshly prepared lauk, there is a quiet joy in discovering each bite. The surroundings, enriched by the garden’s greenery, offer an added layer of simple pleasure — a reminder that food here is as much about the environment of care and comfort as it is about flavor.

It’s a spot that balances the bustling energy of a popular local haunt with thoughtful little touches that invite you to stay a while and savor the moment.

Had Nasi Lemak Kerang, and the sambal kerang is good! Plenty of food to choose from for breakfast. Price is very reasonable imo.

Happening place for breakfast & lunch with variety choices of foods from ready cook food to frying cook such as all the goreng2 mee, kue teow etc. Good taste and delicious foods as per several tried out. Clean and tidy at the kitchen, food stall and roti canai prep area. It is surrounded with small plant gardening and flowers for self healing. Enough seats and tables and enough staff to serve the customers. Customers can park at the roadside but have to walk since there is no carpark area provided.

I have read previous comments on pricing issue. I am ok with the price. 1 roti kosong 1 roti telur bwg to go with kuah asam pedas with half lady finger, then 1 tahu sumbat, 2 teh O panas, and 2 lempeng pisang. RM14.70. The garden is nicely kept, and the eating place is cozy. Lots of lauk kampung ready to eat as early as 8am, with nasi putih. There is signboard of kacang pool but didnt see anyone ordering. Kuah tahu sumbat is authentic.

Went here for lunch and place was not packed. Seats and parking spots are limited. The overall vibe of the place was really nice. The cosy kampung vibe exudes tranquility. The selection of food is average. It was delicious but the pricing of the meals was quite higher than average. The place is open for breakfast as well. Overall, great for a quick bite.
